Pop up shop June 15 - 23!
I have spent all of 2018 so far planning, designing, and producing a new line of dinnerware, and I am so excited to celebrate the launch with y'all. On Thursday evening, June 14, I'll open up the studio to celebrate the new three piece set: a small 6" plate for bread, snacks, or dessert, a revamped 10" dinner plate, and a cereal / breakfast bowl. Come by to see the shapes, colors and finishes in person, and to have a drink! Following the opening, the collection will be available at a pop up shop near my studio in Red Hook, Brooklyn, from the 15 - 24th of June. The pieces will also be available on my website on June 15.
This launch has been a long time coming; my first foray into outside production was in 2016 when I designed a dinner plate for the RAM Press. You can read about my experience with RAM here and even see a video of the press at work! Last year I added a new shape, the shallow bowl, and this year I'm taking my biggest step yet: offering a full dinnerware set. It's been an exciting challenge for me to figure out how to scale my production in a way that feels natural to me. This past April I drove 2200 miles in four days to visit the manufacturers who are producing these pieces, and I'm so proud to be a small part of a continuation of the rich history of American pottery manufacturing. I'm excited to share more of this story, along with photos and videos I took on my trip, in the coming months.
Hope to see you there!
